Profile Summary

My doctoral research includes four different investigations; a) the FT-IR spectroscopic study of hepatotoxicity due to acetaminophen using mice as model, b) the Raman spectroscopic studies of muscles related disorders using Drosophila as a model, c) Vibrational spectroscopic study of septic shock using mice as model, d) Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) study of serum components using Lab-on-a-chip (LOC).

Also, I have experience with projects related to (i) Graphene as a SERS substrate, (ii) Raman spectroscopic study of effect of oxidative stress on nerve cell, (iii) Raman spectroscopic study of effect of mechanical injury on cockroach-nerve fibers, (iv) FTIR spectroscopic study of smear samples (cervical cancer). Similarly I have worked with various cancer cell lines (HeLa cells, L929 from mouse) and nerve cells from mouse brain.

As part of my thesis work I have successfully collaborated with various labs in IISc. During my years of education at IISc, I got exposure to research from a wide variety of disciplines and that fostered an overall insight towards science. My ambition in life is to work in global teams that are pursuing influential research on problems of wide interest. My key interest is to extend the research skills and knowledge of science and technology, which I gained over a period of time, in the direction of development of new analytical tools which can be used along with conventional techniques to increase the understanding of mechanism of various biological processes and progression of diseases.
