Currently I am developing a label-free biosensor that uses the optical properties of metal nanoparticles to detect binding of target analytes. I am working on miniaturizing the device for portable applications, while increasing sensitivity and improving detection limits. This is being achieved through optimization of nanoparticle properties using detailed simulations and through improving hardware, sensing algorithms, and detection protocols.
