Sarka O. Southern, Ph.D., is the Founder and Scientific Director of the Gaia Medical Institute. GMI is a biotechnology company focused on noninvasive in vitro diagnostics for human and veterinary medicine. Prior to GMI, Dr. Southern pursued academic research in molecular biology, retrovirology and immunopathology at the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, University of California, University of Minnesota and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
