I am currently an assistant professor in the electronics engineering department at Yarmouk University – Jordan. I am exceptionally interested in obtaining a faculty position at Qatar University, as its growing engineering department with its students and faculty members who have diverse research areas.

I have been awarded a scholarship, for both master and PhD, from Yarmouk University on 2003. I have finished my master and PhD degrees from University of Alabama at Huntsville – USA on 2005 and 2008 respectively. My research work during my PhD study was emphasis on optoelectronics. I have joined the electronics engineering department on June 2008.

I have joined the PhD Program at University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH) on September 2005. The title of my dissertation was “Tunable Optoelectronic Flat-Top Filters Using Coupled Liquid Crystal Cavities”. The objective of this dissertation is to demonstrate how to integrate the LC tuning capability in the tunable optical filters. This objective is achieved by introducing two types of liquid crystal based tunable filters. The Tunable LC coupled Fabry-Perot filters (TLCCFP-F) and the LC tunable optical interleavers.
The LC optical interleaver filter is based on the combined Michelson interferometer (MI) and the Gires-Tournois interferometer (GTI). Integrating the LC tuning capability in the interleaver has the advantages of low operation voltage requirements and design simplicity. Moreover, it has a flat top response with minimum ripple and tunable center wavelength.


My research interests include optoelectronics, liquid crystal devices, liquid crystal tunable filters, optical communications and wireless sensors networks applications. I have published many articles in different journals. Also, I have participated in different national and international conferences.
