Prasanna is a co-founder of Exnodes, where he pioneers Computational Parallel Inspection® to maximize yields of computing chips. Prasanna was VP Engineering at Arecont Vision (leader in security cameras), Advisory Research Scientist at Ricoh Innovations (leader in enterprise imaging), and Research Scientist at KLA-Tencor (leader in process control). Prasanna's financial insights originate from D. E. Shaw & Co (leader in computational finance).

Prasanna serves as Computational Imaging Editor of Applied Optics, Member of Program Committee of Computational Optical Sensing & Imaging conference, and as U.S. National Science Foundation Panel Member. Prasanna was a Postdoc in EE at Caltech and holds a PhD in EE from University of Colorado. Prasanna studied Business Strategies and Entrepreneurship at Stanford University.

Prasanna's 24 patents and 45 publications have earned over 1400 citations. Prasanna has been recognized by University of Colorado's Outstanding PhD Award, U.S. EB-1 Extraordinary Ability Classification, OSA Outstanding Paper Award, SPIE Optical Science and Engineering Award, Colorado Photonics Industry Association Awards, and GCT Coimbatore Gold Medal.
