Profile Summary

I am an optics/laser engineer with a passion for astronomy and space science. I have 7 years of experience with optical measurement and imaging systems in the visible and NIR wavelength range plus 1.5 years of experience in laser design, assembly and characterization.
As laser engineer at ASC I am responsible for all assemblies related to the laser and other optical components for a Flash LIDAR 3D camera system in two of the company's main space projects. Before that I was principal team member of a German-Spanish collaboration that founded the OPAC (OPtical and Aging Characterization) laboratory located at the world’s largest demonstration platform for concentrating solar energy research (PSA, Plataforma Solar de Almeria, Spain). This meant equipping the laboratory with specific scientific instruments, improving and designing new instruments and establishing procedures. My work resulted in two patents for measurement instruments that implement monochromatic illumination and a camera to measure the optical properties of reflector and absorber materials.
