Continuous-Wave Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CW-CRDS) has now become a field-proven trace gas measurement technique in the industry. With particular emphasis on field data, this paper demonstrates the strong capability of CW-CRDS for trace species detection in such critical applications as H2O analysis in challenging hydride gas matrices, as well as O2 monitoring for ultra-high-purity (UHP) bulk gases.
A new advanced infrared-based analyzer was developed to perform fast and reliable analysis of ultra trace gas impurities. The complete analytical system, the MTO-1000, is capable of measuring moisture to less than 200 parts-per- trillion (PPT) and perform single species detection of other ultra trace gas impurities such as NH3, CO, Hcl, HF and CH4 to parts-per-billion (PPB) and sub-PPB concentrations. Trace moisture calibration data will be presented to demonstrate the speed of response, sensitivity and accuracy of infrared Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS). Emerging broadband capability to measure multiple trace gas species by CRDS technology will also be discussed.
An efficient room temperature all-solid-state laser system continuously tunable in the 0.2 - 10 micrometers spectral range has been developed. It is based on the alexandrite laser pumped LiF:F2+** color center laser system. The alexandrite - LiF:F2+** color center laser combination system has been shown to be a suitable drive source for a number of efficient nonlinear processes, including harmonic, sum-frequency and difference-frequency generation.
