From 2002 to 2007, Andre was a PostDoc with the Medical Imaging Processing Group (MIPG) at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine - Department of Radiology.

Andre holds a Doctor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Medical Physics from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He conducted his doctorate research at the University of Pennsylvania from 2000 to 2001. Andre earned his Bachelor degree in Physics from the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil.
