Dr. Jue Wang is a Principal Scientist at Corning Advanced Optics leading fundamental understanding and new product development for optical coatings from vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) to long wave infrared (LWIR). He specializes in optical materials, thin film designs, advanced deposition technologies, laser induced damage and material characterization. He is the author and co-authors of over 100 publications, and holds 20+ US patents.

Before joining Corning in 2000, Jue was a Full Professor of nano-structured optical materials at Pohl Institute of Solid Physics, and the dean of the Physics Department at Tongji University. He was a Volkswagen research fellow and a German DAAD research fellow in the Physics Institute at Wurzburg University. He received his PhD in Optoelectronic Materials and Devices from Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, and his B.S. in Optics and Electron Physics from Fudan University.

Jue serves several international committees, including OSA – Optical Interference Coatings (OIC); Frontiers of Optical Coatings (FOC); SPIE - Advanced Optics for Defense Applications UV through LWIR; He performs peer-review duty for Applied Optics, Thin Solid Films, Optics Expresses, Optics Letters, J. Vac. Sci. & Tech. He volunteered as the topic editor of High Power Laser Sciences and Engineering for three years. He also volunteered at the Chinese School of Rochester over ten years at various positions from Head Teacher, Principal to Chairman of the Board of Directors.
