Profile Summary

Matthew A. Cooper received his Ph.D. at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and is currently the Director of Personnel, Logistics, and Sustainment for the United States Space Forces Korea. He received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering and his M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) through the Autonomy and Navigation Technology (ANT) Center, his MBA from the University of South Dakota, and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University (PSU). He has worked as a Telecommunications Specialist for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), as an Electrical Systems Integration Engineer for BAE Systems in the M109A6 Paladin Upgrade Program, as a Geospatial Intelligence Project Engineer at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), and as a Program Manager for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) involving R&D of high power laser sources. His research interests include optical fiber design, fabrication, and testing within high-power fiber lasers and in high-power laser beam delivery. He also holds specialized experience in photonic lanterns, wavefront sensing, and control theory.
