Abstract
Retransmission is a simple and effective method to improve transmission reliability in content delivery. However, wireless multi-hop networks have the problem of path instability. If the retransmission still uses the previous transmission path, it is highly likely that the retransmission will still fail. On the other hand, frequent transmission failures can lead to the need to frequently initiate routing protocols to rebuild transmission paths, thereby increasing network overhead and reducing network performance. NDN (Named Data Networking) is a content-oriented network architecture where nodes can request the same content through multiple FIB interfaces. Based on the content-oriented nature of NDN networks, this paper proposes a Dynamic Path based Retransmission (DPR) mechanism in wireless multihop networks. If a node receives a retransmitted Interest, it dynamically selects a FIB interface for forwarding based on the historical request failure rate and success rate from multiple FIB interfaces that can request the content. The experiment shows that the method proposed in this paper can effectively improve the success rate of content delivery.
