Abstract
Industrial applications of vision systems for inspection very often require high speed performance. Using an application accelerator in combination with a PCbased vision system a speedup factor of about 10 15 can be realized. Algorithms using the instruction set of the array processor lead to high inspection rates and reliability. Contour filtering and gradient processing therewith are performed in short time. We will discuss the given inspection task the algorithms used and the integration of the application accelerator.
