Abstract
Characterization of gel structure by a laser light scattering method was described. The measurement was made on a sample which was given a constant slow rotation around a vertical axis in a typical dynamic lightscattering setup. When the sample is in a gel state the intensity of the light scattered from the sample fluctuates . Computer simulations theoretical considerations and experiments revealed that the scattering vector dependence of the relative standard deviation of the intensity fluctuation is related to the flexibility of the network of the gel by a simple formula. This method was applied to fibrin gels. l.
