Repetitively pulsed and cw gyrotrons have generally been developed around a thermionic cathode, with cold cathodes reserved for single shot devices. The novel results presented here demonstrate that a cable-pulser driven, cold cathode gyrotron developing > 4MW per pulse (f=100GHz) may be run with a repetition frequency of 100Hz over time scales of > 1 minute. A short burst PRF of 330Hz was also observed over seven pulses. Running a gyrotron at 100GHz, PRF 100Hz over 45 seconds the average output power from the system was > 30W. This was determined from the colour change per unit area in a calibrated liquid crystal sheet with a mm-wave absorber backing. In a second novel series of experiments two cable pulsers were discharged in series into the same diode. The time separation between the pulses could be electronically varied from 60 separation down to 130ns.
