The concepts of multiresolution sampling (MRS) are explained, and relevant models are built. The Shannon models are suitable for processing signals with good mathematical properties, but our models are superior in dealing with complex signals, while retaining the capabilities of Shannon models. The main differences between the Shannon models and ours are different assumptions about sampling. The models can be well applied to the resampling of the digital images containing complex information, and the concepts can be brought into the scope of wavelet theory.
