Speed and real-time are important indexes for marine environmental monitoring. This paper proposed a method to design the multi-sensor marine environmental monitoring system for the hybrid-power fast unmanned surface vehicle (USV) to meet the requirements of the marine environmental monitoring system. This USV comprises a ground base station, data transmission system, data acquisition system, and power system. It has the functions of remote control, status monitoring, autonomous obstacle avoidance and marine environmental data monitoring, data transmission, and processing. The critical marine environment acquisition module consists of five parts: the multi-beam underwater three-dimensional bathymetry survey, shallow profile survey instrument, ADCP current survey, and CTD sound velocity profile survey. At the same time, the USV passed the prototype testing, which verified that the autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance system performed well and fully met the navigation needs of the USV. The combination of a diesel surface propeller propulsion device and an electric propulsion device could meet the rapid arrival of monitoring sites and meet the low noise and low vibration working environment during environmental monitoring. The multi-sensor monitoring system could continuously and stably measure the data of the monitoring sea area and transmit the real-time monitoring data. The final results showed that the feasibility and stability of the USV for marine environmental monitoring provided a new idea for developing unmanned automation of deep-sea marine environmental monitoring. Meanwhile, it could achieve high-precision marine surveying and mapping, marine hydrology, and environment monitoring.
