Yukito Saitoh received his BE, ME, and PhD degrees in Organic Material Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1988, 1990, and 2003, respectively. He joined IBM at Yamato Laboratory in 1990 and worked on the development of liquid crystal cells for TFT-LCDs, and non-contact alignment and wide viewing angle technology. In 2003, he joined Fujifilm corporation and has been engaged in research and development of functional optical films using liquid crystals for wide-viewing-angle LCDs and other display devices. He is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Highly Functional Materials Research Laboratories, and his activities focus on new technologies and application developments for telecom and sensors. He has been a program committee member of the Liquid Crystal Technology in the Society for Information Display (SID) from 2004 to present.
