Area of Expertise:
Confocal microscopy , Optical design , Phage display , Molecular contrast agent , Protein synthesis - immunology
Profile Summary

I have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in optical design and microscopy.

My thesis work focused on designing and optimizing a video-rate dual-axis confocal system capable of in vivo imaging.

I have worked on developing a fluorescent contrast agent for medulloblastoma on an animal model using both phage display peptides and known antibodies, to be used in conjunction with a dual-axis confocal system we have developed previously.

Prior to graduate school, I have worked for Biosite Inc. developing diagnostic devices for an accurate, precise and rapid way of detecting congested heart failure using cardiac blood markers.

I have also worked for the immunology division at Beckman Coulter Inc. developing synthetic MHC's.

My undergraduate education is in premedical-bioengineering with a focus on fluid mechanics.
